Lantern Festival, also known as Yuanxiao Festival or Shangyuan Festival,
falls on the 15th day of the first lunar month.
On this day, people will light up
lanterns, eat sweet glutinous rice dumplings, watch lion dances and
dragon dances, and enjoy the full moon.
In addition, the
Lantern Festival has a long history. It originated from the Han Dynasty
(202 BC-220 AD) and has been celebrated for more than 2,000 years. It
not only reflects the wisdom of the ancient Chinese, but also carries
forward the cultural heritage of the nation.
Overall, the Lantern Festival is not
only a traditional festival but also a cultural symbol of China.
